Anda (Egg) Paratha

Anda (Egg) Paratha is a popular breakfast dish in India and Pakistan. It consists of a paratha (Indian flatbread) cooked with a layer of beaten egg on top. The dish is garnished with chopped onions and cilantro, and often served with yogurt or chutney. Anda Paratha is a filling and nutritious meal that is perfect for starting your day off right!
Here's a recipe for Anda (Egg) Paratha that you can make in 10 minutes:

Ingredients:


  • 2 cups wheat flour
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 tablespoon oil, plus more for cooking parathas
  • 3-4 eggs
  • Chopped onions and cilantro, for garnish


Instructions:


  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the wheat flour, salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and cumin powder.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of oil and mix well.
  3. Gradually add water and knead the dough until it is soft and smooth.
  4. Divide the dough into 4-5 equal portions and shape them into balls.
  5. Roll out each ball into a thin disc, about 6-7 inches in diameter.
  6. Heat a tawa or griddle over medium-high heat.
  7. Place a rolled-out paratha on the tawa and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, until lightly browned.
  8. Beat an egg in a bowl and pour it over the paratha. Use a spatula to spread the egg evenly over the paratha.
  9. Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, until the egg is cooked through.
  10. Remove the Anda Paratha from the tawa and garnish with chopped onions and cilantro.
  11. Repeat the process with the remaining parathas.
  12. Serve hot and enjoy your Anda (Egg) Paratha!

Note:

You can also add chopped green chilies and ginger to the dough for added flavor. You can adjust the amount of chili powder and cumin powder according to your taste preferences.
